1- PLANTING LAVENDER

 

* Lavender seedlings are not planted closer than 35 cm and 50 cm.

* Row spacing, which is the tractor wheel spacing, 1.40 cm. or 1.50 cm. happens. The area where the tractor will not be used can be reduced to 1 meter.

* Sewing can be done by machine or by hand.

* 5 da. Machine planting should be preferred in fields larger than that.

* In machine planting, it should definitely be checked that the roots of the seedlings are closed. Before planting, the roots and top of the seedlings are trimmed. It is well compressed so that the roots do not get air.

2- LAVENDER FIELD MAINTENANCE

 

The most important struggle in the maintenance of the lavender field is weeding. The anchor between the row and the row must be made. Herbal medicine should never be used. Fertilization can be done according to the result of soil analysis.

 

 

3- LAVENDER HARVEST

 

After lavenders start to bloom, they are never watered. Harvesting is done when the weather is sunny for at least 3 consecutive days and from 9-10 in the morning when the temperature starts to rise, until 17-18 in the afternoon. Flowers are harvested with sickle, motorized hand machines or harvesters with 1-2 leaves on the stem. It is important to dry it in the shade to obtain quality oil. If it is used for dry flowers and bouquets, it must be dried in the shade. Thus, it preserves its color.
